Visa-Free Entry (Tourist Visa Exemption):

  1. Tourist Visit Visa: Citizens of many countries can enter Indonesia for tourism purposes without obtaining a visa in advance. This is typically referred to as a “Visa-Free” entry or “Tourist Visit Visa Exemption.” The length of stay allowed under this exemption varies between 30 and 90 days, depending on your nationality. Most travelers receive 30 days upon arrival, which can usually be extended once for an additional 30 days while in Indonesia.

  2. Entry Points: Visa-Free entry is usually granted at major international airports and seaports in Indonesia. The main entry points include Jakarta (Soekarno-Hatta International Airport), Bali (Ngurah Rai International Airport), and several others.

  3. Requirements: Travelers entering under the Visa-Free exemption must have a passport that is valid for at least six months from the date of entry, a return or onward ticket, and proof of sufficient funds for their stay.

Visa on Arrival (VoA):

  1. Tourist Visit Visa on Arrival: If your nationality is not eligible for Visa-Free entry, you may be able to obtain a Visa on Arrival (VoA) when you arrive in Indonesia. The VoA allows for a stay of 30 days, which can be extended once for an additional 30 days.

  2. Fee: There is a fee associated with the VoA, payable in cash (usually in US dollars). Be prepared with the appropriate amount.

  3. Extension: If you wish to stay longer than 30 days or extend your stay while in Indonesia, you can usually apply for an extension at the local immigration office.

Tourist Visa:

  1. Visit to the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate: Some travelers, depending on their nationality and travel plans, may need to apply for a tourist visa at an Indonesian embassy or consulate in their home country before traveling. Tourist visas are typically issued for 60 days and can be extended once for an additional 30 days while in Indonesia.

  2. Requirements: The specific requirements for a tourist visa can vary by embassy or consulate, so it’s essential to check with the nearest Indonesian diplomatic mission for precise information.
